Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Springfield Renaissance

Springfield Renaissance entered their tilt with Agawam on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Brownies by a score of 49-40. This was a revenge game for Springfield Renaissance: when they faced off against Agawam back in January, they had to take a 48-42 loss.

Springfield Renaissance's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sy'Nye Baker, who went 7-for-17 en route to 21 points along with six steals and five boards. Baker has become a key player for Springfield Renaissance: the team is 3-1 when she posts at least 15 points, but 4-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of J'Adore Reese, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds.

Springfield Renaissance's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Agawam, they dropped their record down to 3-10 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Springfield Renaissance will head out to face off against Northampton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Springfield Renaissance will be up against the Blue Devils' rather soft defense (which has allowed 53.43 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Agawam, they and Holyoke will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played.
