Cactus dropped down to 5-2 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks, falling 30-7. Having soared to a lofty 51 points in the game before, the Cobras couldn't push the score so high this time.
Despite the loss, Cactus saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nathaniel Linares rushed for 73 yards and one TD on only ten carries, and also picked up 47 receiving yards.

Yuma Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brody Amon led the charge by picking up 148 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Amon also hauled in two receiving touchdowns, which is notable because the Shamrocks are 2-1 when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise.
