South is 10-0 against West since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The South Bulldogs will look to defend their home court against the West Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
South scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They really took it to Independence for the full four quarters, racking up a 90-60 win on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win South has managed all season.
South can attribute much of their success to Chris Stokes, who scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stokes has scored all season. Zakhi Davison was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, West was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last Friday as they fell 61-56 to Africentric Early College. That's two games in a row now that West has lost by exactly five points.
South's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 20.33 points. As for West, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
South beat West 81-71 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Will South repeat their success, or does West have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
