Kimball has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Hemingford Bobcats at TBD on Friday. Hemingford took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Kimball, who comes in off a win.
Even though Kimball has not done well against Pine Bluffs recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Kimball narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Pine Bluffs 61-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Kimball relied on the efforts of Kyler Lusche, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 2 assists, and Brandon Paxton, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. Lusche has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Braxton Miller, who scored three points along with eight assists.
Meanwhile, Hemingford fought the good fight in their overtime match against Morrill on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 48-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions.
Kimball has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Hemingford, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.
