The Purchase Line Red Dragons will take on the Bishop McCort Crushers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bishop McCort will be up against a hot Purchase Line team: the squad just extended their winning streak to 13. The Red Dragons put the hurt on River Valley with a sharp 14-4 victory on Monday.
Rylee Mahaffey made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Mahaffey was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Leah Nelson, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Houser, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Purchase Line was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2025.
Meanwhile, Bishop McCort got the win against Bishop Guilfoyle on Friday by a conclusive 13-5. The Crushers haven't had any issues with the Marauders recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Bishop McCort's victory bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Purchase Line, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.
Purchase Line was able to grind out a solid victory over Bishop McCort when the teams last played back in May of 2025, winning 7-4. Do the Red Dragons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Crushers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
