Concord hasn't had much luck against Central Cabarrus recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Concord will head out to challenge Central Cabarrus at 6:00 p.m. Concord has given up an average of 11.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Concord is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Salisbury on Saturday as Concord made off with a 23-13 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Jerry 'Neil' Hammill was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season.
In other batting news, Maxwell Pryduluk was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-5. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Lucas Hancock also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Concord always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .580. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Central Cabarrus narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past West Cabarrus 5-3.
Central Cabarrus also got a great performance from Tellis Bumgarner as he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. That's the fewest hits Bumgarner has allowed since back in February.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Paulie Coubal, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Another player making a difference was Garret Black, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.
The win made it two in a row for Concord and bumps their season record up to 3-8. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 11 hits in those games compared to only 4.33 in the others. As for Central Cabarrus, their record now sits at 4-7.
Concord came up short against Central Cabarrus in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 9-4. Can Concord avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
