The Buchtel Griffins will head out on the road to face off against the Ellet Orangemen at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Buchtel will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 622nd, while Ellet is ranked 265th).
Last Friday, Buchtel lost to Mogadore on the road by a decisive 49-35 margin.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Ellet on the road against Firestone on Thursday as the team secured a 59-27 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Ellet.
It was another big night for Sanaiiya Gray, who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds. The contest was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caitlyn Holmes, who scored 11 points along with 6 assists and 5 rebounds.
Buchtel's win bumped their season record to 1-3 while Mogadore's defeat dropped theirs to 2-2.
Buchtel was taken down by Ellet 58-16 when the teams last played back in January. Can Buchtel avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
