The Clearview Pioneers will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Penns Grove Red Devils at 5:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
After a string of four wins, Clearview's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 58-33 walloping at the hands of Kingsway. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Clearview has suffered since December 16, 2023.
Meanwhile, Penns Grove was the victim of a tough 65-44 loss at the hands of Cinnaminson on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Penns Grove can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while Cinnaminson is ranked 75th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Giomar Conrad, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Willie Slocum, who scored nine points.
Clearview's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Penns Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
