The Belmont Bison can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 84-59 margin over Thurgood Marshall. The victory was just what Belmont needed coming off of a 74-53 defeat in their prior game.
Belmont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Denzell Ogle led the charge by scoring 20 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Ogle has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Judah Baldwin, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds.
Despite the loss, Thurgood Marshall still got an impressive performance from Reggie Person, who scored 19 points. Amare Lattimore was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six steals.
Belmont now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Thurgood Marshall, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belmont will square off against Stivers School for the Arts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Thurgood Marshall, they will head out on the road to face off against Ponitz Career Tech at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ponitz Career Tech has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 243 points over their last four contests.
