The Randle Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Rudder Rangers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Randle knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Rudder likes a good challenge.
Randle can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They blew past Lamar Consolidated 70-19 at home. Given Randle's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 113th, while Lamar Consolidated is ranked 713th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Landen Callis-Williams, who rushed for 159 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also caught a touchdown. Callis-Williams was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 64 yards. Randle also got a significant boost from Sincere Timpson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 89 yards.
Meanwhile, Rudder's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 46-25 walloping at the hands of Brenham.
Randle's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.33 points. As for Rudder, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Everything came up roses for Randle against Rudder in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 53-21 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Randle since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
