After a string of three wins, the Cottage Hill Christian Academy Warriors's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 67-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of UMS-Wright Prep. Cottage Hill Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as UMS-Wright Prep apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Cottage Hill Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Clay Scofield. Despite the final result, he scored 39 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Scofield's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Metzner, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Cottage Hill Christian Academy's loss ended a 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-3. As for UMS-Wright Prep, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7.
Cottage Hill Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against Theodore at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. UMS-Wright Prep will be home for the holidays to greet St. Paul's Episcopal at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
