Basketball Recap: Lead Hill Comes Up Short

After flying high against Mount Judea last Tuesday, Lead Hill came back down to earth. The Lead Hill Tigers took a hard 58-41 fall against the Alpena Leopards on Thursday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Leopards recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Despite the loss, Lead Hill still got an impressive performance from Tesli Johnson, who posted 18 points and eight rebounds. Johnson's afternoon made it ten games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kendra Wagner, who earned nine points.

Even though they lost, Lead Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Lead Hill's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Alpena, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-17.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lead Hill won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mount Judea at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lead Hill is facing Mount Judea at the right time seeing as Mount Judea is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Alpena, they are taking a road trip to take on Eureka Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
