The Provo Bulldogs posted their closest victory yet this season on Friday. They skirted past Payson 36-33. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Provo has scored all season.
It was another big night for Aaron Castagnetto, who scored 21 points along with three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Trey Johnson, who scored five points.
Legend Reynoso and Micah Swasey certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Reynoso scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and two steals, while Swasey scored nine points. Joseph Wolfe was another key contributor, scoring three points along with three steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Provo and bumps their season record up to 10-6. As for Payson, they bumped their record down to 3-9 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Provo will take on Uintah at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Uintah is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Payson, they will head out on the road to take on Timpanogos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
