The Hempstead Bobcats lost against the Hitchcock Bulldogs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Hempstead took a serious blow against Hitchcock, falling 80-28. Hempstead has not had much luck with Hitchcock recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Hempstead lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Calvin Thompson, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dontae Houston, who scored four points along with seven rebounds.
Hempstead's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 15-16. As for Hitchcock, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 26-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hempstead will face off against Boling at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Texas (Boling is ranked 1158th, while Hempstead is ranked 1152nd). As for Hitchcock, they will head out on the road to square off against Brazos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Brazos will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Hitchcock surely won't give up without a fight.
