Aloha is 8-2 against Beaverton since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Warriors will host the Beavers at 5:00 p.m. Aloha is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Aloha and Southridge meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Warriors walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Skyhawks. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Warriors as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Ava Cruz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Addie Lamb, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nellie Foust, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Beaverton never got on the board in their matchup on Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Mustangs. The Beavers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by nine runs or more this season.
Zinnia Berg was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Berg was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, Gracie Burnett was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Halle LaFontaine was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Aloha's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-9. As for Beaverton, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Aloha hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Beaverton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Aloha skirted past Beaverton 13-11 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Beavers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
