The Blue Mountain Eagles had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They snuck past Bangor with a 12-7 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Blue Mountain also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Blue Mountain can attribute much of their success to Tyler Miller, who rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 51 yards and a touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes. Blue Mountain also got a significant boost from Payton Fasnacht, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 95 yards.
Blue Mountain is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Bangor, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-4.
Blue Mountain will head out on the road to face off against Schuylkill Haven at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Schuylkill Haven is on a four-game streak of home wins, Blue Mountain a five-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. Bangor will take on Pen Argyl at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
