Forrest County Agricultural has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Purvis Tornadoes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Forrest County Agricultural suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 67-44 defeat at the hands of Sumrall. While losing is never fun, Forrest County Agricultural can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while Sumrall is ranked 50th).
Even though Purvis has not done well against Lawrence County recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Purvis pulled ahead with a 61-60 photo finish over Lawrence County. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Jacoby Robinson, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Judd Gipson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Forrest County Agricultural's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 8-12. As for Purvis, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
