Midway put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Spring Creek Gators as they made off with a 17-0 win. The Raiders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Gators, too.
Midway got a massive performance out of Peyton Herring, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Maelyn Phillips, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Midway hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matchups.
Midway's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Spring Creek, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-4.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Midway is set to challenge their familiar foe James Kenan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Raiders 2.2, the Tigers 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Spring Creek will square off against rival Rosewood at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
