The Trinity Christian Lions had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.8 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Saturday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 13-12 win over Grace Prep. Given Trinity Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 296th, while Grace Prep is ranked 890th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kaden Lehew and Dominiq Vann, Grace Prep certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Lehew rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown, while Vann picked up 51 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Trinity Christian's victory was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. As for Grace Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Lions will square off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles are coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Grace Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Covenant Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
