Basketball Recap: Thomas Jefferson School Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Izzy Pieroni and Asha Silva

Thomas Jefferson School lost against Mississippi Valley Christian back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Thomas Jefferson School Titan came up short against the Mississippi Valley Christian Warriors, falling 47-27.

Thomas Jefferson School's loss came despite strong showings from Asha Silva and Izzy Pieroni. Silva posted six points and five steals, while Pieroni earned ten points along with six steals and three blocks. The dominant performance also gave Silva a new career-high in assists (three).

Even though they lost, Thomas Jefferson School was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Mississippi Valley Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Remi Sapp out in front who had 17 points. Jessie Huels was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Thomas Jefferson School dropped their record down to 3-8 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Mississippi Valley Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thomas Jefferson School will take on Rivers of Life Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mississippi Valley Christian, they will face off against The Fulton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Mississippi Valley Christian sitting on three straight wins and The Fulton on four.
