Licking Heights had lost 11 games straight , but after bumping their record up to 2-13 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out the Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies 6-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Brady Pennington made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Johnny Morgan looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only two earned runs over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Maxim Fink was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Richard Hill II, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
As for Johnstown-Monroe, they now have a losing record of 7-8. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
On Johnstown-Monroe's side, Carter Holbrook was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. The Johnnies are 2-1 when Holbrook posts two or more runs, but 5-7 otherwise.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Licking Heights will host Watkins Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Warriors have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Johnstown-Monroe, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Heath at 5:00 p.m. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Johnnies surely won't give up without a fight.
