Cristo Rey lost against Horeb Christian in their previous head to head back in November of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 51-42 score last time.
Horeb Christian was led to victory by Ifeanyi Ezeala and Manny Cid, Jr.. Ezeala scored 18 points, while Cid, Jr. scored 27 points. The contest was Cid, Jr.'s third in a row with at least ten points.
Cristo Rey's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-4. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.8 points per game. As for Horeb Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cristo Rey's road trip will continue as they head out to face Sheridan Hills Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. As for Horeb Christian, they will square off against Archimedean at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Archimedean is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
