Sheridan came tearing into Saturday's match with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Central Indians by a score of 3-1. The Broncs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Indians, too.
Sheridan walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-21, 25-13, 21-25, 25-17.
Sheridan was led to victory by Alexia Johnston and Valli Frost. Johnston had five aces, while Frost had five digs. Those five aces gave Johnston a new career-high. Mesa Hanft also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
They weren't the only good server: Sheridan was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. They are a perfect 3-0 when they serve at least ten aces.
Despite the defeat, Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Chaney Birt had seven aces and four digs. Those seven aces set a new season-high mark for Birt.
Sheridan's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Central, they moved to 6-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
