Somerset Academy Losee waltzed into their match on Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They blew past Southeast Career Tech 71-34 on the road. Somerset Academy Losee's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Key Thrower continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points. She has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Lewis, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Legacy waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past Cheyenne, posting a 71-34 victory on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Legacy has posted since December 15, 2023.
Legacy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ajalee Williams out in front who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Alabama Nieves was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Somerset Academy Losee is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Legacy, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Somerset Academy Losee have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 23.6 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Legacy, though, as they've been averaging only 29.6 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
