That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Kenzie Headley and Ashton Thomas.
On Saturday, East Liverpool had to suffer through a rough 42-15 loss at the hands of West Branch. While losing is never fun, East Liverpool can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 460th, while West Branch is ranked 16th).
Toronto can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 54-35 victory over Wellsville. Toronto's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Thomas continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. The matchup was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. Tatum Derrington was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
East Liverpool now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Toronto, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-8.
Everything came up roses for East Liverpool against Toronto in their previous matchup back in November as the team secured a 67-26 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Liverpool since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
