Maranatha was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 37-21 bruising from the Whittier Christian Heralds. Mays' passing game has become a key predictor of Whittier Christian's success: the team is 4-2 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise. Adrian Hernandez was Mays' top target, picking up 94 receiving yards and a touchdown.
