North Moore hasn't had much luck against Montgomery Central recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The North Moore Mustangs are taking a road trip to challenge the Montgomery Central Timberwolves at 6:00 p.m. Montgomery Central took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on North Moore, who comes in off a win.
On Tuesday, North Moore got the win against Graham by a conclusive 16-1. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won four contests by nine runs or more so far this season.
Sydney Russell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.

In other batting news, North Moore got a massive performance out of Carly Monroe, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Monroe a new career-high. Tate Allred was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
North Moore was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .682. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Montgomery Central was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They lost 9-1 to North Davidson. The Timberwolves haven't had much luck with the Black Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Kyndal Rush was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
North Moore's record now sits at 6-2. As for Montgomery Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
North Moore's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's game. North Moore has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Montgomery Central, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will North Moore continue to outrun the ball?
North Moore suffered a grim 16-2 defeat to Montgomery Central when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can North Moore avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
