The West Wolfpack and the Golden Valley Cougars squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the West Wolfpack had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 447th, while Golden Valley is ranked 125th).

Alvin Gaitan, who's now up to nine this season.
West's loss dropped their record down to 9-3-4. As for Golden Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-2-2.
West does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Golden Valley, they will take on Rocklin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
