After a string of four wins, the Northampton Yellowjackets's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They suffered a tough 70-50 defeat at the hands of Maury. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Northampton has scored all season.
Jaylen Anderson and Ronyell Coston certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Anderson scored 24 points, while Coston scored 20 points along with five rebounds. The match was Coston's eighth in a row with at least ten points.
Northampton's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Maury, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northampton's road trip will continue as they head out to face Sussex Central at 4:00 p.m. on December 18th. Maury will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Greensville County at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
