The Bainbridge Bearcats waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 64-53 win over Early County. Bainbridge pushed the score to 53-32 by the end of the third, a deficit Early County cut but never quite recovered from.
Aj Grant was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 2 assists. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Smart, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Early County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Javarrien Jones, who scored 13 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tremarion Lee, who scored nine points along with five steals.
Bainbridge pushed their record up to 15-9 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Early County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-9.
Bainbridge will head out on the road to square off against Cairo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Cairo's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups. As for Early County, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Stewart County at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. Early County is facing Stewart County at the right time seeing as Stewart County is stuck on a 18-game losing streak.
