Baseball Recap: Pleasant Grove Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Pleasant Grove entered their tilt with Lone Peak on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Knights 16-2. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won 14 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Van Haynie looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits.

At the plate, Drew Smith and C.J. Anderson did most of the damage at the plate: Smith went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Anderson went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Anderson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of R.J. Wilson, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Pleasant Grove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in six consecutive matches.

Pleasant Grove's record is now 20-4. As for Lone Peak, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-13.
