Baseball Recap: Blackfoot Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Blackfoot's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They put the hurt on the Jerome Tigers with a sharp 7-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Broncos, who have now won five matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Weston Layton was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Jake Vance, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Blackfoot's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Jerome, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blackfoot will square off against Madison at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Jerome, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Jerome Tigers challenge Burley Bobcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
