The Easley Green Wave lost to the Fountain Inn Fury back in November of 2023, but the Easley Green Wave didn't allow the Fountain Inn Fury the same satisfaction on Wednesday. Easley narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Fountain Inn 43-40.
Easley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Meya Mckinney, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mckinney has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Gramblin, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Despite the loss, Fountain Inn saw an underclassman step up: Chaniya Jackson dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Easley's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Fountain Inn, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Easley and Greenwood will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Fountain Inn, they will head out on the road to face off against Wren at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wren will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
