The Oak Hills Highlanders waltzed into their game Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Bishop Loughlin by a score of 49-36. Given Oak Hills' advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 204th in Ohio, while Bishop Loughlin is ranked 451st in New York), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Oak Hills was led to victory by Bobby Stidham and Nate Riep. Stidham dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, while Riep dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. The game was Stidham's third in a row with at least ten points. Henry Maginn was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Oak Hills now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Bishop Loughlin, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
Oak Hills is on the road again on Friday and play against Hamilton at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. Hamilton and Oak Hills are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. Bishop Loughlin and Nazareth will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
