1A Special District 4 (8 Man) recap Oct. 9, 2012
Imbler's Jaden Bales rumbled for the longest rushing play in 1A Special District 4 (8 Man) this season in his game against Wallowa last week. Bales' team beat the Cougars as he sprinted for 82 yards on the play and finished with 146 in all.
Imbler extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Wallowa, 52-6. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
The Panthers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kyle Johnson threw for 51 and one touchdown and Casey Robertson had 25 yards receiving. Riley Merrigan helped Imbler's passing attack out by catching one ball for nine yards.
Imbler's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Johnson has thrown for 739 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Robertson has 17 catches for 479 yards. Joe Griffin leads the league in rushing with 940 yards.
Griffin of the Imbler is only 60 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in 1A Special District 4 (8 Man) this week will be when Powder Valley takes on Cove. As it stands, the Badgers are in third, while the Leopards are in second.
Powder Valley led the league in scoring this week after putting up 91 points on Pine Eagle.
