The Kanab Cowboys's found some homefield redemption this week after a tough overtime loss to the South Sevier Rams on Thursday. Kanab walked away with a 68-56 win over Delta. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Cash Mortensen, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The match was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. Kale Glover was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Despite the loss, Delta still got an impressive performance from Cai Henderson, who dropped a double-double on 37 points and ten rebounds. Henderson scored a full 66.1% of Delta's points, the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaytn Brough, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Delta struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Kanab racked up 12 assists.
Kanab is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Delta, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Kanab will be home for the holidays to greet Page at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Delta won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hurricane at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th. Allowing an average of 52.7 points per game, Hurricane has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this contest.
