Riverside will be up against a hot Northwestern squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Warriors' pitcher stepped up to hand Tecumseh a 7-0 shutout on Friday. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.
The result came thanks to Amara Hastings's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Samantha Wolfe, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. Sophia Pamer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, Riverside was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They put the hurt on Lehman Catholic with a sharp 14-3 victory.
Emilee Robinson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Robinson was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Chloe Purtee was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Molly Carman, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Riverside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. They are 5-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Northwestern's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Riverside, their victory bumped their record up to 10-12.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Northwestern has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .440. However, it's not like Riverside struggles in that department as they've averaged .436. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
