There's no place like home for the Neuse Charter Cougars, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against East Wake Academy on Friday as Neuse Charter made off with a 59-36 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Neuse Charter also won the last time the pair played back in November.
It was another big night for Cayley Cochran, who scored 25 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Neuse Charter's points. Another player making a difference was Layla Johnson, who scored 7 points along with 12 rebounds and 6 assists.
The victory got Neuse Charter back to even at 4-4. As for East Wake Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.
Neuse Charter will head out on the road to face off against Vance Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. East Wake Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Oxford Prep at 6:00 p.m. on December 11th.
