Kress is 0-3 against Happy since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Kress Kangaroos will head out on the road to face off against the Happy Cowboys at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
The third road matchup was the charm for Kress, as they earned their first road win of the season. They blew past Lazbuddie 65-31 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Kress has posted yet this season.
Kress' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drew Morphis, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds. Morphis continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Landon Gilles was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Happy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They escaped with a win against Springlake-Earth by the margin of a single free throw, 69-68. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Kress' victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-11. As for Happy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-12.
Kress was taken down by Happy 72-25 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Kress was down 38-4.
