Atlee is a perfect 3-0 against Matoaca since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Raiders will venture away from home to face off against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Atlee 3.2, Matoaca 0.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Matoaca will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Atlee extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. The Raiders walked away with an 11-7 victory over Glen Allen. The game was the first time the Raiders have beaten the Jaguars on their field since May 1, 2017.
Sierra Kegley was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off 11 hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Leah Austin and Izzie Turnauer did most of the damage at the plate: Austin got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Turnauer went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those four hits gave Turnauer a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Carter, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Atlee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Matoaca won against Thomas Dale on Thursday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Warriors didn't even let Prince George on the board, marking the Warriors' second-straight 7-0 shutout. Considering the Warriors have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kaylee Hodges made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. Hodges was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Makennah Harler, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Matoaca is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.1 runs on average over those games. As for Atlee, their record now sits at 12-5.
Atlee's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's match. The Raiders have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Matoaca, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Atlee continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Atlee's way against Matoaca in their previous matchup back in March of 2022, as Atlee made off with a 15-3 victory. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
