The Agua Fria Owls suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They were beaten by Cactus 81-27. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Agua Fria has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Agua Fria still got an impressive performance from David Shaw, who scored eight points along with six steals.
Agua Fria struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Cactus racked up 17 assists.
Bradey Henige continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Cactus, dropping a double-double on 40 points and 23 rebounds. Henige is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Hutton, who scored 13 points along with seven assists and two steals.
Agua Fria has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Cactus, they pushed their record up to 14-3 with that win, which was their 13th straight at home.
Agua Fria will take on Estrella Foothills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Estrella Foothills and three for Agua Fria. As for Cactus, they will head out on the road to challenge Goldwater at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Goldwater will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 285th, while Cactus is ranked 37th).
