Kaitlin Johnson and Makayla Brooks stepped up to the plate in a big way. Johnson went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple, while Brooks scored four runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those three hits gave Johnson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gabriela Boone, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-1.
Even though they lost, Lafayette was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Denbigh only posted a batting average of .273.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lafayette will welcome West Point at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Denbigh, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Phoebus at 4:30 p.m. on March 18th.
