Corona/Vaughn has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Lake Arthur Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Arthur took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Corona/Vaughn, who comes in off a win.
Even though Corona/Vaughn has not done well against Alamo Navajo recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Corona/Vaughn snuck past Alamo Navajo with a 41-35 victory.
Corona/Vaughn can attribute much of their success to Kourtney Brandenberger, who scored 15 points along with seven steals, and Harper Dunn, who dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 21 rebounds, and 11 blocks. That makes it four consecutive games in which Dunn has scored at least a third of Corona/Vaughn's points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Lake Arthur, who are still winless after their seventh match. They were dealt a 51-9 defeat at the hands of Corona/Vaughn on Thursday.
Corona/Vaughn's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Lake Arthur, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.
Everything came up roses for Corona/Vaughn against Lake Arthur in their previous meeting on Thursday as the team secured a 51-9 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Corona/Vaughn since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
