Despite the defeat, East Coweta saw an underclassman step up: Ricky Howell Jr rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown. Howell Jr got the majority of those yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible50 yards.
Lovejoy's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for East Coweta, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Lovejoy beat East Coweta 41-28 in their previous meeting back in August of 2017. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lovejoy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
