Sunbelt recap November 13, 2013
Paloma Valley's Demarco Prewitt rumbled for the longest rushing play in Sunbelt this season in his game against Lakeside last week. Prewitt ran for 24 yards on the play and finished with 75 on the day as his team beat the Lancers.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Heritage beat Elsinore 37-14. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Brent Boehm threw for 180 yards and 5 touchdowns. He was 14-21 with 1 interception.
Brett Virgil provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Heritage defeated the Tigers. He completed 9 passes for 164 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 68 yards. Virgil's key target this week was Evan Rodriguez, who caught 4 passes for 73 yards.
Limihai Hifo was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 17 carries, he ran for 157 yards as Kraig Broach's team bested Elsinore. Teammate Jalen Glover added to the ground attack by rushing for 69 yards.
Leading Sunbelt in both passing and receiving yards, Paloma Valley's Boehm and Michael Valencia have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-0 quarterback Boehm has thrown for 1,995 yards this season, while Valencia has 30 catches for 527 yards. Hifo from the Patriots leads the league in rushing with 1,221 yards.
Bert Esposito's team's Boehm is within 5 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Chino.
Prewitt of the the Wildcats is just 25 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 125 carries Prewitt has accumulated 975 yard this year.
Paloma Valley took down Lakeside 42-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Boehm in the win.
