After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mayfield, the Centennial Hawks were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 51-27 margin over Gadsden. That looming 51-27 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Centennial yet this season.
Centennial's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joy Hunt, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Audi Torrez, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.
Centennial pushed their record up to 10-9 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Gadsden, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.
Centennial will be playing at home against the Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in New Mexico (Organ Mountain is ranked 14th, while the Hawks are ranked 23rd). As for Gadsden, they will head out on the road to take on the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mayfield will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
