It was a good run, but the Tapestry Charter Titans unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 41-40 to Howard. Tapestry Charter was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Howard apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Tapestry Charter's loss came despite strong showings from Kingston Willingham and Makhi Miller. Willingham scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks, while Miller scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Willingham posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Shelton, who scored three points along with four steals.
Even though they lost, Tapestry Charter were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Sam Schulman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Howard, scoring 23 points. Another player making a difference was Michael Davis, who scored 11 points.
Tapestry Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Howard, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Tapestry Charter will head out on the road to square off against Varsity Opponent at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Howard, they will take on Cumberland Academy of Georgia at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cumberland Academy of Georgia is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
