After soaring to 52 points the game before, Mount Vernon faltered in their game on Friday. They have to be aching after a bruising 7-30 loss to Lake Stevens. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Mount Vernon of the 14-72 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head.
The defeat dropped Mount Vernon's record to 3-1. The victory bumped Lake Stevens' record up to 4-0.
Next week Mount Vernon take on Monroe at Monroe HS at 7:00 PM. Lake Stevens will look to defend their home turf against Kamiak at 7:00 PM. Lake Stevens are cruising in on a four-game winning streak while Kamiak are stumbling in off of four consecutive losses.
