The Bonanza Bengals will be playing at home against the Durango Trailblazers at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Monday, Bonanza didn't have quite enough to beat Sunrise Mountain and fell 3-2. While the Bengals didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Miners 25-13 in the first set.
Bonanza took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 13-25, 25-22, 20-25, 25-14, 15-9.
Meanwhile, Durango came up short against Mojave on Monday and fell 3-1. While the Trailblazers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Rattlers 25-21 in the first set.
Durango started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-12, 25-21, 25-21.
Bonanza will have to keep a close watch on James Carl Serrano and Miguel Villa Tovar, a pair of players who had a big impact on Durango's prior game. Serrano had 31 assists and three aces, while Villa Tovar had nine kills, nine digs, and five aces. Villa Tovar has been hot, having posted nine or more kills the last five times he's played.
Durango's defeat dropped their record down to 10-18. As for Bonanza, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.
