Tonopah Valley has been on the road for five straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Salome Frogs at 7:00 p.m.
On Saturday, Tonopah Valley took a serious blow against Phoenix Country Day, falling 79-42. While losing is never fun, Tonopah Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 297th, while Phoenix Country Day is ranked 64th).
Meanwhile, Salome scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat San Pasqual Valley 65-35 at home. That looming 65-35 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Salome yet this season.
Tonopah Valley bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Salome, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Tonopah Valley came up short against Salome in their previous meeting on December 1st, falling 52-39. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Salome's Jovany Calderon, who scored 22 points along with four steals.
